Car hire in Yerevan is really about road-tripping, not about driving around the city itself. Republic Square, the Cascade, Tsitsernakaberd and Vernissage are all easy to explore on foot, and most guests prefer to collect their car not on the day they land, but on the morning they actually head out — whether it’s to Garni, Lake Sevan or across the border into Georgia.
Zvartnots Airport is just 12 km from the centre — one of the most convenient airports in the region. Most of our partners will meet you right at the arrivals exit by flight number, or deliver the car to your hotel completely free on the day your trip begins.
"In our experience, the easiest way is to take the car on the day you leave Yerevan: the first 24 hours go by on foot and in cheap taxis anyway."
"We deliver to most hotels in central Yerevan free of charge — there's no separate trip to an office to pick up the car."

Zvartnots Airport and city delivery
Zvartnots (EVN) is Armenia’s main international airport and the most common pickup point for rentals across the country. The drive from the airport to the centre is just 12 km along the M5 motorway — usually 15–25 minutes, or up to 35 in rush hour. Bus 201 runs to Republic Square for 300 drams, while Yandex Go and GG Taxi offer a fixed fare of around $5–10. If you’re heading straight to Lake Sevan or Dilijan, collecting the car at the airport is by far the simplest choice.
"We meet most guests at the arrivals exit by flight number. It's faster than the rental shuttle, especially after a late-evening flight."
If your first night is in Yerevan and you only need the car the following morning, hotel delivery is usually the most convenient option — most partners offer it free within the central districts. You simply agree the address and time when booking, and there’s no extra delivery fee on the bill.
"If your flight is delayed, send us a WhatsApp message before take-off with the flight number. We track arrivals and wait without an extra charge."
Day trips and weekend routes from Yerevan
One of Yerevan’s biggest advantages is its location: almost every major sight in Armenia is reachable in a comfortable day’s drive. The classic first-timer loop is Garni and Geghard — the 1st-century pagan temple, the UNESCO-listed cave monastery and the striking Symphony of Stones. From the centre of Yerevan, Garni is just 45 minutes away on good tarmac.
Day-trip routes
Khor Virap with its unforgettable view of Mount Ararat is 45 minutes south. Echmiadzin and its cathedral sit 30 minutes away on the M5. Lake Sevan and Sevanavank are an hour north on the M4, while Dilijan — often called the Armenian Switzerland — is 1.5 hours into the mountains.
"Garni – Geghard – Sevan in one day is the standard loop for first-time visitors: all paved, and you're back in Yerevan by sunset."
Longer routes
Tatev and its famous cable car take about 4 hours one way — best paired with an overnight in Goris. Tbilisi is 5–6 hours (around 250 km) via the Bagratashen crossing on the M6, available with selected partners once we arrange the notarised power of attorney and Green Card. A single weekend can easily cover half the country: Sevan and Dilijan one day, Tatev and Khndzoresk the next, or Areni and Noravank on another.
"If Tatev or Georgia is on the plan, take the car at Zvartnots straight off the flight. A day in Yerevan loses nothing without one."
Paid parking in Yerevan
In 2024 Yerevan introduced a clear coloured-zone parking system. Red lines mark Zone A (about 40 central streets): 300 drams per hour, 2,000 per day or 5,000 per week. Blue lines cover Zone B (Arabkir and outer districts): 200 drams per hour. White lines are service areas where parking is not allowed, and green lines are reserved for electric vehicles. The first 15 minutes are free everywhere, and parking is completely free from 22:00 to 10:00.
"The easiest way to pay is via the Telcell or IDRAM apps. They accept foreign cards, so you don't need cash for parking in central Yerevan at all."
The largest covered option is the underground garage beneath Freedom Square — 600 spaces, from 200 drams per hour, secure and open 24/7, with payment on exit. Many central hotels also have their own parking; we can confirm the exact address when you book.
"If someone in the centre offers to 'hold' a space for cash and shifts boxes for you, that isn't municipal parking. Real parking is paid only via app or meter, never to a passer-by."

Long-term car hire in Yerevan
Yerevan has become one of the most popular long-stay destinations in the Caucasus — for remote workers, students and people on extended business trips. To meet this demand, local partners now offer attractive longer-term rates. Bookings of 28 days or more usually bring a 20–35 % discount off the daily price, and several companies provide 3- and 6-month packages with extra savings and a guaranteed vehicle swap if anything goes wrong.
"An economy saloon in Yerevan for a month costs from $400–600 depending on the model and season. For six months we have separate rates with a price review at renewal."
Long-term packages often include Full Coverage with zero excess and full roadside assistance. Payment can be monthly or settled upfront for the whole period — a comfortable and practical solution for anyone planning to stay in Yerevan for a month or longer without buying a car.
"Take the long-term package if you're in Yerevan for at least a month: the daily rate over the same period works out roughly half as expensive again."
